When someone thinks of a superhero – they typically think of capes and super human powers. But by definition – it also refers to an exceptionally skillful or successful person.
Ok – so you may not go to work wearing a cape. However – you are up against changes and challenges every single day. You are battling the competitors, project timelines, and obstacles of all sorts.
Are you a #workplace #superhero – an exceptionally skillful or successful person who gets stuff done against all odds? For starters – ask yourself these questions.
Am I prepared for change?
The #workplace #superhero embraces change and values communication. They don’t fear change. They face change head on – with a clear plan and help their people along on the journey. As the Borg say “Resistance is Futile.” Perhaps. However – resistance to change can be minimized with the right attitude and strategy. The #workplace #superhero knows how to prepare their team for change, creating a change strategy that emphasizes communication and engagement, helping them along on the journey to future success.
Are my processes helping or hindering work?
Processes – without them not much could get done. 90% of organizations fail to execute their strategy successfully. Why? Because they don’t have the right processes in place to support execution of their strategy – this lack of support tends to hinder efforts to deliver excellent customer satisfaction. The #workplace #superhero reviews processes often, seeks to remove redundancies or inadequacies that hinder the execution of the strategy, and makes certain all employees and stakeholders understand and are trained on processes to which they need to deliver.
Am I communicating enough?
The #workplace #superhero knows who to communicate. For strategy and change to gain commitment, frequent communication is required. It takes more than a clear strategy to achieve desired outcomes – it takes timely and targeted communication. The #workplace #superhero knows what to communicate to who and when to build trust and buy-in.
To be the #workplace #superhero – you need to be prepared for change, have the right processes and strategy in place, and provide timely and targeted communication. If you can manage those 3 key areas – wear your cape to work proudly!
What do you think it takes to be a #workplace #superhero?
