Challenge 

Tolero Solutions client, a well established non-profit with a successful 30 year history, was experiencing continued growth while at the same time experiencing an increase in turnover. 

The problem – as the organization was growing they added more and more priorities to the strategic plan causing conflicts among strategic priorities and overloading staff

Solution

Tolero Solutions engaged with the client to conduct strategic planning workshops to develop a new five year strategy and identify necessary priorities, goals, targets, and metrics for success. Additionally Tolero Solutions facilitated an offsite retreat for leadership, staff, and the advisory board with a focus on generational differences, communication, and team performance. 

• Conducted in-depth internal and external stakeholder interviews to identify the strengths, improvement areas, and growth opportunities for the organization
• Facilitated Tolero Solutions strategic planning workshop, Where are we going and how do we get there? Conducting strategic planning and executing a successful strategy and Tolero Solutions generation differences workshop, Bridging the generation gap: What are they thinking? 
• Collaborated to redefine the mission, vision and organizational values of the organization 
• Documented the tasks and activities associated with each staff role and created a staff manual and employee onboarding process

Results

• Reduced the level of strategic priorities by half, decreasing frustration with staff workload allowing the team to focus on operational and mission critical priorities
• Decreased conflict among the various generations of staff and improved communication and engagement
• Created a 5 year strategic roadmap with actionable and measurable goals and targets
• Developed a communications and outreach plan for staff to engage with prospects, long term supporters, and the media
