Purpose of the session: 

The purpose of this session is to explore with participants some of the challenges of leading change in a change-adverse organization and share some tools and tips from our experience that help drive success. In large-scale, organizational systems change, initiatives can go one of two ways: success or failure. This interactive session will provide a real example of a large change implementation. We will explore challenges the change team faced and discuss ways in which you can overcome similar challenges in a change-averse organization.

What will people learn?

Change itself is a process – managing it, leading it, achieving it is also a process. Managing change successfully requires acknowledging some hard truths. Participants will learn Hard Truths of Change Management, and some Myths of Change Management (handouts) that, if addressed, will help drive successful change, and if ignored, can hinder achieving goals. They will also learn potential ways in which they, or those in the system, may unknowingly be sabotaging change and learn how to overcome them.
